Medical Ozone Treatment at The Center of Integrative Medicine:

Helps with Stress, Enhances Healing, Increases Energy

Abstract

Ozone therapy, a medical treatment first established in Germany in the 1950s, is gaining popularity in the United States. This therapy utilizes medical grade ozone (O3), a “supercharged” version of oxygen, to stimulate the body’s healing process. Despite its proven effectiveness for a number of conditions, and safety profile, it remains underutilized due to lack of awareness, recognition by insurance companies, and general lack of availability. In ozone therapy, medical oxygen is converted to medical ozone, which contains an extra oxygen atom compared to the usual two in the air we breathe1. This extra atom makes it a “supercharged” version of oxygen and gives it the capability to do amazing things for your body.

Introduction

Ozone therapy is a treatment modality that has been successfully implemented for decades. It involves the use of medical grade ozone, a molecule comprising three oxygen atoms, which is highly active and stimulates the body’s self-healing mechanisms. (An Optimal You, n.d.) Ozone therapy has been used effectively to reduce heart disease, improve and even reverse autoimmune diseases (M.S., Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, Lupus, etc), treat TMJ, fight cancer, help with fibromyalgia, improve the body’s ability to fight infections (Shingles, Lyme disease, etc.), assist in detoxification, alleviate symptoms from interstitial cystitis, stimulate the healing of ligaments, muscles, and tendons. It can keep your body looking and feeling younger and healthier. Ozone therapy appears to enhance blood flow and improve circulation. The use of medical grade O3 appears to increase antioxidant production. It also seems to balance out the immune system. Ozone therapy is administered by IV, rectal, bladder, vaginal, limb bag, or injection into a specific pain area. The type of treatment that is best for you and the frequency of use you require depends upon what the treatment is for.

The Healing Power of Ozone Therapy: A Patient’s Journey

Ozone therapy, a form of alternative medicine, has been gaining attention for its potential in treating various health conditions. This therapy involves the introduction of ozone into the body, which can have several beneficial effects.

One patient’s experience with ozone therapy illustrates its transformative power. This patient had been struggling with a buildup of cholesterol in his heart arteries. Ozone therapy acted like a brush, cleaning his heart of the extra cholesterol. This process helped resolve his prostate issues as well.

Ozone therapy works by inactivating unwanted pathogens, bacteria, scar tissue, and allergens from the bloodstream. As a result, the blood becomes thinner and can flow more efficiently. This is particularly beneficial for patients who have undergone bypass surgery and have seen a drop in their nutrient absorption due to the procedure.

In addition to cleaning the bloodstream, ozone therapy also heals the gut layer and activates immune cells like T cells and B cells. This leads to a properly functioning immune system. Ozone therapy essentially activates the body’s main functions, including circulation, healing, metabolizing, rewiring, repairing, and other healing processes.

In the example above, the patient also received an amino acid blend and vitamin B as part of his treatment. This blend can repair the gut and help with nutrient absorption. The patient had been losing weight and was concerned about it. After undergoing ozone therapy and receiving the amino acid blend, he started gaining weight back because nutrients were getting back into his system and his gut layer was healed.

In addition to ozone therapy, the patient also received an energy supplement called “Brainstorm Energy.” This supplement has powerful anti-inflammatory properties and can help repair the body. The patient had been struggling with memory problems, but after taking this supplement, he quickly started noticing improvements in his memory.

Ozone therapy, combined with other treatments like amino acid blends and energy supplements, can help patients get back to normal health. Whether someone is dealing with post-surgical healing, high blood pressure, gastric issues, prostate problems or brain-related issues, supporting the body with a foundation of overall healing processes, including medical ozone therapy, can lead to remarkable results.

Medical Ozone Therapy

The history of medical ozone therapy dates back to 150 years ago during the 1880s. It is an alternative medical treatment that targets the inactivation of diseases and bacteria by introducing ozone (O3) or ozonide into the body. Ozone therapy inactivates bacteria, viruses, yeast, and fungi through the stimulation of oxygen metabolism and immune system activation.

How does Ozone Therapy work?

The first part of ozone therapy is the inactivation of bacteria, viruses, fungi, protozoa, and yeast. Through the oxidation of phospholipids and lipoproteins that comprise the cell envelope of bacterial cells, ozone is used to disrupt the stability of this structure. Weak enzymes coat bacterial cells and make them more vulnerable to being oxidized and eliminated from the body, thus allowing new healthy cells to replace them.

The next part of ozone therapy involves the stimulation of oxygen metabolism that causes an increase in the glycolysis of red blood cells. The presence of ozone also activates the Krebs cycle, allowing for an increase in ATP production.

Next, Ozone Therapy prompts the activation of the immune system.

Who is Ozone Therapy Beneficial for?

Ozone therapy has had demonstrated beneficial effects in diabetic patients and has been shown to inactive the HIV in vitro. Ozone therapy was also found to increase the immunity of hosts due to increased cytokine production. Ozone therapy can also be used as a disinfectant to clean out bacteria present within the bloodstream.

IV Nutrition Drip

IV Nutrition Drip is another medical therapy treatment that focuses on providing patients with adequate amounts of fundamental nutrients and vitamins that aren’t always present in our daily diets. IV Nutrition Drip is important because our bodies require certain amounts of nutrients and vitamins that are needed to sustain our overall well being.

IV Therapy is a method of introducing vitamins, minerals, and other natural substances directly into a patient’s bloodstream. The main advantage of IV Nutrition Drip is that it bypasses the digestive system. When substances are given orally, they must be processed through the stomach and the intestines which decreases the absorption rate to 10%-20%.

By providing the body with essential nutrients, we can use IV drip therapy to treat a wide range of conditions, relieve hangovers, combat aging, reduce stress, boost immunity, hydrate the body, and improve mental clarity. It promotes wellness from the inside out.

Ozone Therapy: A Complementary Approach to Health and Healing

Ozone therapy is a medical treatment that utilizes ozone gas (O3), a highly reactive form of oxygen, to address various health conditions. This therapy has been shown to have a range of therapeutic effects, including improving blood flow, stimulating the immune system, and reducing inflammation.

What Is Ozone Therapy?

Ozone therapy uses ozone, a colorless gas made up of three oxygen atoms, and it may be applied through injection or insufflation, which can be used to treat a range of underlying health issues. In medicine, ozone therapy is used to detox, disinfect, treat diseases and improve the body’s intake and use of oxygen, as well as activating the immune system.

Intravenous ozone therapy is used to treat a variety of conditions, including autoimmune disorders, infections of bacterial, viral, fungal, and protozoan origin, chronic fatigue, Lyme disease, and more.

Ozone is a molecule that is made up of three oxygen atoms, denoted in the chemical formula O3. Oxygen is O2; ozone is O3. It is important to differentiate between medical ozone and environmental ozone, as they are commonly confused. Environmental ozone is a known pollutant that can be harsh on mucus membranes and is typically unsafe; medical ozone, safely and precisely administered, does not generally have any side effects. Medical grade ozone (O3) is made by using medical oxygen (O2) and an electromagnetic charged ion machine to attach O to the O2 (O(1) + O2 = O3).

During an ozone treatment, blood is withdrawn and mixed with normal saline and ozone gas. The O3 quickly turns back into O and O2 as it mixes with blood and saline, and an IV drip returns the hyper-oxygenated fluid back into the bloodstream, where it can begin to help modulate immune responses.

Administration of Ozone Therapy

Ozone therapy can be administered in several ways:

  1. Injection: Ozone is injected directly into the affected area of the body, such as the muscles or joints.
  2. Topical application: Ozone gas is applied directly to the skin or affected area using an ozone steam sauna or ozonated oil.
  3. Intravenous infusion: Ozone gas is mixed with the patient’s blood and then reinfused into the patient’s bloodstream.

Therapeutic Effects of Ozone Therapy

Ozone therapy works by increasing the levels of oxygen in the body, which can enhance the body’s ability to heal itself. It has been shown to have a range of therapeutic effects:

  1. Stimulating the immune system: Ozone therapy has been shown to stimulate the production of white blood cells, which play a critical role in the immune system’s ability to fight infections.
  2. Reducing inflammation: Ozone has anti-inflammatory effects and can help reduce pain and swelling.
  3. Improving blood flow: Ozone therapy can increase the oxygen-carrying capacity of red blood cells and improve blood flow to the tissues.
  4. Killing bacteria and viruses: Ozone gas is a powerful disinfectant and can be used to kill bacteria, viruses, and other harmful pathogens.

Safety and Risks

While ozone therapy is generally considered safe when administered by a qualified and experienced healthcare professional, it’s important to note that it is not yet widely accepted by mainstream medicine. Some potential risks and side effects of ozone therapy include irritation or inflammation at the injection site, allergic reactions, and the possibility of ozone gas damaging the lungs if it is inhaled. As with any medical treatment, it’s important to consult with a healthcare professional before considering ozone therapy as a treatment option.

Applications of Ozone Therapy

  1. Treating Infections: Ozone therapy can be a potential treatment for infections caused by various pathogens. The therapy’s ability to kill bacteria and viruses makes it a potential treatment for infections caused by these pathogens.
  2. Supporting Cancer Treatment: Ozone therapy may have potential benefits for people with cancer. It can increase oxygen levels in the body and stimulate the immune system to help fight cancer cells.
  3. Supporting Detoxification: Ozone therapy may support detoxification by increasing the body’s ability to break down toxins and eliminate them through the liver and kidneys.

Ozone therapy is a versatile treatment with a wide range of applications. From boosting the immune system to supporting detoxification, it offers a holistic approach to health and wellness. However, as with any medical treatment, it’s essential to consult with a healthcare professional trained in ozone therapy before considering this as a treatment option. This ensures that the therapy is tailored to your specific needs and health conditions.

Benefits of Medical Ozone Therapy

Medical ozone has the ability to destroy bacteria, viruses, fungi and pathogens by oxidizing the membrane thereby destroying the pathogen’s DNA. It is bactericidal, fungicidal and virucidal when applied to the outside of organisms.

  • Boosting oxygen and energy – Medical ozone activates RBC metabolism. It binds to RBCs and improves the release from the RBC to the tissue where it is actively needed. At the same time increases the production of ATP, the energy required by the RBC to perform their function. Medical ozone increases the capacity to become more flexible improving their ability to get into the peripheral and microvascular spaces. Therefore, more oxygen circulating the body, more oxygen getting to the tissues in our body thereby optimizing all our metabolic functions.
  • Boosting and Balancing our Immunity – medical ozone activates the immune system by stimulating special messenger cells that communicate with the immune system and thus boosting or modulating our response. When our immune system is sub-optimal it will provide added support to our immunity. In the case of autoimmune responses, it will help bring our immune system back into balance.
  • Anti-inflammatory – Indirect influence on multiple anti-inflammatory components of the immune system as it interacts with various cells. This can help patients with autoimmune diseases.
  • Analgesic – decreases the pain response by reducing oxidation to and around nerve endings.
  • Detoxification – this occurs primarily in the liver, lungs, and the kidneys.

· Varied response to coagulation – at high doses increases coagulation and haemostasis in blood vessels, at low levels increases fibrinolytic activity (breaking up of coagulation).

· Antioxidant and Increases oxygenation– Medical ozone helps to regulate the antioxidant enzymes and reduces the impact of oxidative stress on our body. Optimization of the pro- and antioxidant systems in the body, helping to balance the immune system.

· Oxidative stress – Medical ozone helps prevent oxidative stress by regulating our antioxidant defenses

· Detoxify the liver. Antioxidants can also be used when not administering ozone to help limit inflammation.

Medical Ozone also helps:

1. Increase our resilience to stress

2. Increase stamina throughout the day

3. Enhances sleep patterns

4. Improves memory

5. Increases our rate of recovery from chronic symptoms

6. Metabolism

7. Assimilation

8. Circulation

9. Respiration

Research has shown that frequent use of a sauna can prolong life, improve sleep quality, burn excess fat, and decrease your chances of dying from heart disease by as much as 70%. Health benefits aside, the heat from an infrared steam sauna soothes your nerve endings and relaxes your muscles. It causes your body to release endorphins and enkephalins and gives you a euphoric feeling. As we age or get sicker, our cells get worse at utilizing oxygen.

” Regular sauna sessions can increase the level of oxygen in tissues by decreasing the way hemoglobin binds up the oxygen in the venous blood.

Dr. Velio Bocci of University of Siena Department of Physiology and his team’s research has shown ozone sauna can result in higher blood oxygen levels compared to a regular steam sauna. The reason is that ozone improves the body’s ability to absorb, deliver, and utilize oxygen. Ozone also modulates the immune system (ie. ozone can reduce inflammation or if your immune system is sluggish, ozone sauna can improve it by stimulating cytokine function.)

Ozone stimulates detoxification and increases antioxidant enzymes by as much as 300% to eliminate free radicals that are the cause of aging and all chronic degenerative diseases. Ozone also increases nitric oxide production. Nitric oxide is critical for heart, circulatory health, immune function, blood pressure, and sexual function (Viagra works by increasing nitric oxide levels). Ozone sauna is great for the skin since the skin is loaded with dendritic cells and ozone can activate their function by as much as 400%. Activating dendritic cell function improves our immune system. Ozone is the most powerful disinfectant. There are no known microbes (Bacteria, fungi, and viruses) that are resistant to ozone. Ozone is effective at killing even super antibiotic-resistant bugs.

Ozone Insufflation:

Rectal insufflation of ozonehas been a main medical treatment in Cuba for decades. Rectal ozone is a great systemic treatment for those unable to have blood removed due to religion or fear of needles.

It takes about 2 rectal insufflation treatments to reach the benefits of one ozone IV. Rectal ozone is also great for liver and detoxification as well as digestive ailments and infections.

Ear-Finally a quick and effective treatment for ear infections! Literally takes 3 minutes. Ozone is antimicrobial and kills viruses, bacteria, fungi and more. The common prescription for ear infections are antibiotics which kill bacteria and are essentially useless against viruses that more commonly cause ear infections.

Sinus-A quick, easy, painless, and effective treatment for sinus infections, upper respiratory infections, and allergies.

Erectile Dysfunction- A quick, easy, painless, and effective treatment for erectile dysfunction.

Vaginal-An excellent local treatment for infections. Recommended for yeast infections, herpes, warts, and more. A quick therapy that can be done in the privacy of your own home.

Why Use Medical Ozone

Everything in the universe is electromagnetic: +/- charges. Ozone is an electron-deficient molecule. Ozone is made from oxygen, O2 and becomes O3 = highly reactive. Ozone steals electrons from anything that can’t defend itself against it: virus, fungus, yeast, mold, bacteria, parasites, toxins, harmful free radicals can’t defend and combines with ozone and either destroys it or eliminates it from the body.

03 is not a guided-missile, therefore it will enter the body and go after anything present and destroy it.

Ozone will also interact with pharmaceuticals and nutraceuticals yet these are relatively minute as per the volume of blood (~400ml). Therefore, typically there are no negative changes, but rather synergistic.

Much like most medications or supplements you’ve used, repetition is important. When have you ever given one dose of any medication and gotten rid of the problem? Often we take medication several times a day for weeks, months, years. Therefore, we need to do ozone therapy more frequently to get rid of the problem. Oftentimes, three to four times a week is the minimum.

Safely, there should be at least3 hours between treatments.. Ozone enters your body and lasts for approximately 10 minutes and promotes glutathione production when it meets with proteins in your blood.

Ozone creates reactive oxygen species: alkenes, alkynes, super oxygen ions, peroxides, peroxiles. Ozone also creates lipid oxidation products: Alpha Beta interferon, il 2, 6, 7, 8, 9, TNcF. It is like a vitamin bottle in the body for a couple of hours. Ozoneneeds approximately one hour for waste removal to avoid an acute detoxification reaction (herxheimer reaction). Therefore, you can do two treatments a day, 6 days a week 12 in a week.

What does the procedure look like?

You will need to take an extra dose of blood-thinning agents such as fish oil before the procedure. You will arrive in the clinic and have an IV placed that will draw out blood and put it in a reservoir. The blood in this reservoir is then mixed with ozone gas and slowly infused back into your body through the same IV line.. This constitutes one pass. Our machine offers up to 10 passes as tolerated by the patient. A full ozone IV therapy should take about 1.5 hours per session and can be repeated 1-2 times per week depending on the severity of what’s being treated.

Ozone can also be used topically to aid with slow-healing wounds or can be ingested as ozonated water for similar results. Ozone can also be injected into the joints or into body cavities if needed for some treatments.

HOW DOES OZONE THERAPY WORK?

Oxygen is the most critical nutrient that we use in the body. The benefits of oxygen are not just about how much oxygen we are able to take in, but in what way that oxygen is utilized. As we age, the efficiency at which we utilize oxygen decreases locally and systemically, resulting in decreased cellular function throughout the whole body. In addition, when there is not enough oxygen, our bodies generate excessive free radicals leading to degenerative diseases and premature aging.

Ozone is a compound that contains three oxygen molecules. When administered in our body it super- oxygenates the blood causing increased production of the enzymes that form antioxidants and improved mitochondrial function. Ozone stimulates oxygenation, improves energy production and metabolism, modulates our immune system, and acts as a direct antimicrobial agent (useful in treating bacteria, viral, parasitic and fungal infections). Through these processes ozone decreases the ailments of aging and degenerative diseases.

4 Standards for Defining Medical Ozone Safety

  1. Ozone generators that are compliant and certified to strict quality and safety operational guidelines
  2. Use a closed system that prevents any residue of medical ozone from escaping during the production of medical ozone
  3. Professionals use-specific standard operating procedures for the collection of medical ozone
  4. Utilize defined protocols to apply medical ozone

Why Is Ozone Therapy Important?

Oxygen deficit is key to the development and progression of all disease processes. Oxygen deficit and subsequent toxin buildup is the fundamental cause of all degenerative disease, especially cancers. Antioxidants help the body to protect itself from excessive oxidative damage caused by multiple free radicals, many of which are inactivated by ozone. Ozone therapy increases oxygen in the body, therefore having many benefits. Ozone therapy benefits include strengthening of the immune system, stimulating white blood cells, preventing infections and immune system deficiencies by destroying fungi, bacteria and viruses. It also helps to counteract cell mutations, thereby preventing some types of cancer. It also helps red blood cells to transport oxygen and improves circulation and general cell function. As well as being a powerful antioxidant, it helps to eliminate toxins.

What Science Says About Ozone

A main mechanism of action is stimulation of O₂ and inactivation of microorganisms- including bacteria, fungi and viruses. It has been found effective in numerous diseases and disorders, particularly those, involving inflammation. In osteoarthritis, it has been used for pain control in the knee. zone therapy normalizes organic peroxide levels, in order to reduce diabetic complications. In one study, the therapy has increased specific anitmicrobial cytokine levels, thus helping in boosting the host immunity. It has also demonstrated efficacy in lowering the concentrations of Acinetobacter baumannii, and Clostridium difficile concentrations, in vitro.

No Harm According To Medical Research

Medical O₃ is used for disinfection. It has safe and consistent benefits, with some minimal harms associated. O₃ action results in oxidation and formation of free radicals. As a result, a reaction cascade is started, and membrane permeability of the affected cells’ changes. Enzymes become inactivated, due to the loss of functional group, that occurs due to O₃ action. All of these actions have led to cell death. The main problem with this therapy is the formation of radicals and oxides. It can be prevented by measured release and use of ozone.

Myth #1: Ozone Therapy Is Dangerous

Some doctors and other medical professionals have concerns about the effectiveness and safety of ozone therapy. Ozone therapy actually has demonstrated an excellent safety profile over the past few decades, in many clinical studies- many clinicians have just not read this data, and ozone therapy has not been widely accepted as a standard of care… However, because ozone gas is used, which can be dangerous, researchers continue to explore its effects on the human body and identify potential therapeutic benefits.

Ozone treatments differ, depending on the condition:

  • For treatment of a wound, ozone treatments may be applied directly to the tissue of the affected area, administered in a protective covering.
  • For treatment of internal disorders, ozone treatments may be applied intravenously through autohemotherapy (taking out-ozonating-and-reintroducing your own blood). The gas is dissolved into your blood, which when reintroduced circulates to all of your organs.in.
  • For other disorders, ozone treatments may be applied as an intramuscular injection, in ozonated water, or as part of a sauna treatment.

By increasing the oxygen levels in your blood, ozone therapy may help reduce the stress on your lungs and can be effective for breathing disorders (remember, inhlation of ozone is very harmful to the lungs). Ozone therapy also shows promise in reducing the risk of complications from diabetes. Because it appears to help stimulate the immune system, ozone therapy may have benefits for people with immune disorders as well.

Myth #2: Ozone Therapy Isn’t Backed By Science

According to the National Institutes of Health, ozone therapy has been studied extensively by scientists and medical professionals for over 150 years. The effectiveness of medical O3 is well documented:

  • Ozone therapy is used successfully as a natural disinfectant and immune system activator.
  • Doctors have used ozone therapy successfully to treat rheumatism/arthritis and other autoimmune diseases, circulatory disorders, geriatric conditions, ischemic heart disease, breathing disorders, cancer, macular degeneration, viral diseases, SARS and AIDS. They also have used it to activate the immune system for better health and vitality.
  • Ozone has been used to treat as many as 114 diseases.
  • In 1896, Nikola Tesla established Tesla Ozone Company and patented the first O3 generator in the U.S., Patent #568,177.
  • Ozone was used to disinfect drinking water in the 1900s.
  • From 1914 to 1918, during World War I, doctors applied O3 topically to infected wounds, including gangrene—first because of its antibacterial properties and later after discovering O3 also has anti-inflammatory properties and aids blood flow.
  • In 1936, French physician Dr. P Aubourg wrote the first paper on ozone blood infusion.
  • In 1940, ozone was used to purify swimming pools and to disinfect contaminated spaces.
  • In 2001, Paul Wentworth, Ph.D., a chemistry professor for Scripps Institute, discovered that our immune system produces ozone to disable viruses and other pathogens by punching holes in their outer membranes.
  • In 2020, ozonated blood (major autohemotherapy ozone therapy or MAH) was successful in treating COVID-19 patients in Italy.

All over the world, academic institutions and companies continue to sponsor and conduct government-approved ozone therapy studies because earlier studies have proven so many benefits.

Myth #3: Ozone Therapy Is Brand New

Ozone is a gas that was discovered in the mid-19th century. Ozone therapy has been in use medically since its discovery. It has been used to treat people’s infections, wounds and a variety of diseases with proven, consistent results and minimal side effects.

Another myth is that ozone therapy is a rare and unavailable treatment. Ozone therapy is available in over 50 countries and is one of the most common forms of treatment in Russia, Cuba, Germany and other countries. Forty ozone therapy associations exist in Africa, Europe, Asia, Oceania and America, with over 26,000 known therapists throughout the world.

What is new about ozone therapy—and is often called revolutionary—is the HOCATT wellness system for ozone therapy.

HOCATT stands for hyperthermic ozone and carbonic acid transdermal therapy. The HOCATT is a single-person capsule that immerses your body in steam, ozone and far infrared therapy. While in the chamber, you can also experience aromatherapy, frequencies targeted to your therapeutic goals, and pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) therapy that charges your body with electrons.

The HOCATT experience improves energy, supports the immune system, reduces pain and inflammation, and enhances detoxification up to seven times more than a regular sauna.

Designed by doctors and academics, this ozone therapy system is created to:

  • Enhance the body’s detoxification of harmful bacteria, viruses, heavy metals, chemicals and other pathogens.
  • Promote optimal organ and cell function.
  • Improve blood and lymphatic circulation.
  • Strengthen the body’s protective immune and regeneration system.

Many medical professionals say it’s the most advanced system ever developed for detoxing, anti-aging, fitness and recovery and general wellness.

Conclusion

Despite its proven effectiveness and safety record, ozone therapy remains underutilized in the U.S. due to lack of awareness among people and most doctors not having training in this particular form of therapy. However, as more patients experience its benefits and share their experiences, awareness about this therapy is gradually increasing. In conclusion, ozone therapy offers an additional therapeutic tool to prevent and treat numerous conditions and contribute towards health and healing. Whether you’re dealing with chronic pain, an autoimmune disease, or cancer, this alternative medical treatment could provide a path towards improved health.

In summary, studies suggest that ozone therapy has numerous potential benefits:

  1. Stimulating the immune system: Ozone therapy has been shown to activate the immune system, increasing the production of white blood cells and other immune cells that help fight infections.
  2. Reducing inflammation: Ozone has anti-inflammatory effects that can help reduce pain and swelling in the body. This makes it a potential treatment for conditions like arthritis, autoimmune disorders, and chronic pain.
  3. Improving blood flow: Ozone therapy can improve blood flow by increasing the oxygen-carrying capacity of red blood cells, enhancing the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the tissues. This may benefit people with circulatory disorders, heart disease, or chronic wounds.
  4. Killing harmful bacteria and viruses: Ozone has been shown to have strong disinfectant properties and it can kill bacteria and viruses that are resistant to traditional antibiotics.
