Abstract
With over 23 years of science-based education, integrative medicine research, and training, I developed an integrative healthcare system. I discovered that every health problem has a root cause and an evidence-based solution. By identifying the root cause early and implementing proper treatment and lifestyle modifications, conditions can be prevented from progressing into chronic stages. For instance, insulin resistance, overweight, and nutritional deficiency are primary root causes of diabetes. Similarly, heart diseases are linked to inflammation in the heart muscle, endothelial cell dysfunction within the arteries, mineral imbalance, deficiency of fat-soluble vitamins, anxiety stress etc.

Introduction
On an individual scale, as opposed to the global scale, I apply evidence-based integrative healing methods such as personalized nutrition, natural medicine, IV drips, chiropractic support, acupuncture treatment, and other alternative approaches to provide comprehensive healing solutions for my patients.
Many of my patients are recovering from fatal illnesses such as heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, autoimmune diseases, leukemia, and cancer. These recoveries are beyond their imagination.
My integrative healthcare system is a testament to the power of holistic healing methods in addressing various health issues by targeting their root causes. Compared to the global integrated healthcare system, my system focuses on each individual patient and their treatment.
Dr. Haque’s Integrated Healthcare System
Integrative healthcare is a holistic approach that combines different therapeutic principles and practices. This approach to health and wellness incorporates several elements:
Full Body Comprehensive Exam
A full body comprehensive exam is a thorough physical examination that covers all body systems. It includes an assessment of the cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, and nervous systems among others. This exam helps in identifying any abnormalities or changes in the body that might indicate a health issue.
Nutritional IV Therapy
Nutritional IV therapy involves the administration of vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients directly into the bloodstream through an intravenous drip. This method allows for better absorption of these nutrients by the body. It can be used to address various health issues such as immune deficiencies, chronic fatigue, and even to enhance overall wellbeing.
Healing Root Cause of Disease
This approach focuses on identifying and addressing the root cause of a disease rather than just treating the symptoms. It involves a deep understanding of the patient’s lifestyle, genetics, environmental exposures, and psychosocial factors that might contribute to their illness.
Personalized Treatment Plan
A personalized treatment plan is tailored to meet the unique needs of each patient. It takes into account the patient’s health history, lifestyle, preferences, and goals. The plan may include dietary changes, exercise routines, stress management techniques, and medication if necessary.
Natural Supplementation
Natural supplementation involves using natural substances like herbs, vitamins, minerals, probiotics, etc., to support the body’s healing process. These supplements can help fill nutritional gaps in one’s diet and enhance overall health.
Chiropractic Treatment
Chiropractic treatment focuses on disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system. It often involves manual adjustment or manipulation of the spine. Chiropractors may also provide soft tissue therapies, lifestyle recommendations, fitness coaching, and nutritional advice.
Acupuncture Treatment
Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medicine practice that involves inserting thin needles into specific points on the body. It is often used to treat pain and for various other health conditions. It works by balancing the flow of energy or life force — known as qi or chi — believed to flow through pathways in your body.
Personalized Diet Plan
A personalized diet plan is tailored to meet an individual’s specific nutritional needs based on their health status, activity level, age, etc. It can help manage certain health conditions, promote optimal health, and prevent various diseases.
In conclusion, an integrative healthcare system is a comprehensive approach that takes into account the whole person (body, mind, and spirit), including all aspects of lifestyle. It emphasizes the therapeutic relationship between practitioner and patient and makes use of all appropriate therapies to achieve optimal health and healing.
In the face of the high cost of health care, many are turning to alternative treatments that focus on the root cause of ailments. These treatments, which include nutrition and diet adjustments, natural medicine, acupuncture, chiropractic care, and regenerative medicine, aim to heal the mind, body, and soul. This holistic approach to health care is not just a concept but a reality for many.

Five Steps to Improve Your Health: Insights from Dr. Haque
I’d like to share with you five steps that you can plan to improve your health.
- Diet: Remember, diet is the number one medicine. If you have a health issue, it’s crucial to control your disease with medication. However, to heal the root cause of your health problem and eradicate your deep-rooted disease, you need to fix your diet. I’ve explained the optimal diet for different diseases on my social media platforms.
- Lifestyle: Improving your lifestyle is essential. This includes sleeping on time, waking up on time, getting healthy exercise and movement, and emotional healing. Diet alone is not enough for many people.
- Mind-Body Solution: You need to have the right mindset that you can regain your health. You also need a clean heart, free of grudges, resentment, and anger. Forgive everyone, sleep on time, exercise, and heal emotionally. Mind-body healing is powerful when combined with diet and lifestyle modifications.
- Supplements: When you have a major health issue, supplements are necessary. If you want to heal from the deep root by fixing your organ system, proper nutrition along with nutritional supplements will help improve your organ function and restore your health.
- Regenerative Therapy: Remember, you need to heal your body at the cellular level. Regrowing healthy cells leads to healthy organs and a healthy body. From cellular healing, you need Stem Cell therapy, nutritional IV therapy, ozone therapy, and acupuncture.
Regarding stem cell therapy, it’s being applied nowadays for organ failure, heart failure, liver failure or whenever heart injection function is low or respiration rate is very low or any autoimmune disease has never been cured.
In summary, the five things you can do to fix your health are: focus on diet; improve lifestyle; engage in mind-body healing; take the right nutritional supplements; and consider regenerative therapies like stem cell and IV therapy.
A Global Comparison of Integrated Health Care
On the global scale, the term integrated healthcare system encompasses a network of healthcare providers and organizations that work together to provide a coordinated, seamless range of services to patients. This includes as-needed medical treatment, nutrition and diet guidance, natural medicine, acupuncture, chiropractic care, and regenerative medicine. The focus is on addressing the root cause of health issues and healing the mind, body, and soul. The goal of this holistic approach is not only to improve patient care and health outcomes but also to reduce healthcare costs by preventing diseases before they occur and treating conditions in their early stages.
What is a Holistic Health Ecosystem?
The term “Holistic Health Ecosystem” emphasizes the comprehensive and interconnected nature of health services, from primary care to specialty services, all working together to support the overall well-being of the patient. It also suggests a focus on preventive care and wellness, in addition to treatment of specific conditions. The term “ecosystem” implies a dynamic, evolving network of services that can adapt to meet the diverse needs of patients. It also encompasses the idea of behavioral wellness and recovery, which are crucial components of holistic health care.
Integrated healthcare systems typically include a variety of healthcare providers such as hospitals, doctors, specialists, and other healthcare professionals. These entities work together to provide a comprehensive range of services, including preventive care, acute care, chronic disease management, and specialty care.
For example, the integrated healthcare system is designed to assist persons in need with behavioral wellness healthcare. They merged health services such as primary care, community-based health clinics, mental health services, recovery centers, and a multitude of other services that can help a patient in need.
Traditional medicine (TM) was integrated into health systems in Africa due to its importance within the health delivery setup in fostering increased healthcare accessibility through safe practices. However, the quality of integrated health systems in Africa has not been assessed since its implementation. The objective of this paper was to extensively and systematically review the effectiveness of integrated health systems in Africa. Materials and Methods: A systematic literature search was conducted from October 2019 to March 2020 using Ovid Medline, Scopus, Emcare, Web of Science, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health (CINAHL), and Google Scholar, in order to retrieve original articles evaluating the integration of TM into health systems in Africa.
A quality assessment of relevant articles was also carried out using the Quality Assessment Tool for Studies with Diverse Designs (QATDSS) critical appraisal tool. Results: The results indicated that the formulation and execution of health policies were the main measures taken to integrate TM into health systems in Africa. The review also highlighted relatively low levels of awareness, usage, satisfaction, and acceptance of integrated health systems among the populace. Knowledge about the existence of an integrated system varied among study participants, while satisfaction and acceptance were low among orthodox medicine practitioners. Health service users’ satisfaction and acceptance of the practice of an integrated health system were high in the countries assessed. Conclusion: The review concluded that existing health policies in Africa are not working, so the integration of TM has not been successful. It is critical to uncover the barriers in the health system by exploring the perceptions and experiences of stakeholders, in order to develop solutions for better integration of the two health systems.
Primary healthcare is a type of service that you encounter regularly throughout the year. When you schedule an appointment with a dentist, a counselor, or an eye doctor to examine your eyes, these are called primary healthcare services.
Traditional medicine (TM) refers to the sum total of all explicable knowledge and practices used to diagnose, prevent, and eliminate physical, mental, and social imbalances. TM exclusively relies on practical experience and observations handed down verbally or in writing from generation to generation [1]. TM’s use is increasing in both developed and developing countries.
For example, the proportion of residents who have patronized TM at least once in developed countries is 38% in Belgium, 42% in the United States of America, 48% in Australia, 70% in Canada, and 75% in France [2]. TM use is reported to be more popular in Africa, Asia, and Latin America since 80% of the population continues to depend on TM for their primary healthcare needs [2,3]. The high frequency of TM use in Africa has been attributed to reasons such as TM being economical, and socially and culturally acceptable within the African setting [4,5,6]. Additionally, TM has proven to be effective in managing and treating tropical maladies and other ailments, such as epilepsy, hypertension, insomnia, ovarian cancer, convulsion, stroke, boils, tuberculosis, infertility, hernia, and malaria, among others [3,6,7].
In Nigeria, for instance, Rauwolfia vomitoria, a medicinal herb in the Apocynaceae family, is used to manage disease conditions such as insomnia, convulsion, stroke, and hypertension [3]. Traditional birth attendants in South Africa use TM with muscle relaxant characteristics to help with the safe delivery of babies [3]. Aloe vera, black seed, black cohosh, and other TM plants are acknowledged for their outstanding health promotion and disease prevention benefits [8]. Studies have reported that TM continues to be an essential ingredient of a number of medications currently used for the management of heart diseases, fevers, pain therapies, and other health problems [3,9]. For instance, artemisinin, a derivative of the medicinal plant Artemisia annua, is the origin of a suite of efficient antimalarial drugs [3]. Recognition of the important role that TM plays in health delivery (its high prevalence and medicinal benefits) led to its integration into various health systems around the world, including those of Africa [4].
Integration has been defined as the act of broadening the scope of health delivery through communication, participation, accommodation, and partnership building between biomedical and traditional health systems while safeguarding indigenous medical knowledge [10]. The sole purpose of an integrated health system is to offer quality healthcare to the population equally and satisfactorily while averting unnecessary costs [11]. A booming integrated health system is likely to promote the proper use of indigenous medical knowledge and boost the development of health systems (self-adequacy), particularly in poor-income countries [12].
Asian countries such as Korea, Japan, China, India, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam have successfully integrated TM into their health system [12,13]. The practice of TM in these countries is founded on logical and comprehensive methods, as well as clinical experiences [13]. For example, in China, biomedical doctors are trained in the field of TM practice in order to support competent TM practitioners in health centers, embrace treatment processes based on TM principles, gain understanding from experienced TM practitioners, and study the curative effect of TM treatment with the diagnosis and model of the orthodox health system. This approach not only boosted the confidence of biomedical doctors in the field of TM but also improved and sustained collaboration between the two health systems [13]. The Chinese success story in the field of integrated health is also illustrated by a rise in registered Chinese TM practitioners in the United States of America [14]. India has also boosted its integrated system through the incorporation of the repayment of medical costs incurred by utilizing TM products and services. Thereby, Indians who work in the public sector are reimbursed money spent on TM products and services [15].
African countries have also made efforts to integrate TM into formal health systems [4]. Such countries include Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea, Ghana, Guinea, Mali, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, and the Republic of Congo, among others [10,16]. For example, Ghana instituted a council in the year 2010 to regulate the activities of TM practice and, in 2012, registered TM practitioners were allowed to practice medicine [17]. Similarly, Nigeria also formulated the National Policy on the TM Code of Ethics and the creation of national and state TM boards to oversee the practice, and boost partnership and research in the field of TM [18]. Most African countries ascribe to a parallel/inclusive model of health system integration. A parallel or inclusive model is a system where TM and biomedical healthcare are separate elements of the health system, but both are expected to interact and work jointly to deliver quality health services to clients [10,16]. However, the effectiveness of the integration of TM into health systems to offer quality health services to the African populace is unexplored.
Benefits
- Coordinated Care: In an integrated system, all of your healthcare providers communicate with each other. This means that everyone involved in your care is on the same page about your health status and treatment plan.
- Improved Patient Experience: Integrated systems often result in a better patient experience because care is more coordinated and efficient.
- Cost Savings: By working together, healthcare providers can eliminate duplicate services and reduce administrative costs, which can lead to lower healthcare costs for patients.
Challenges
Despite the potential benefits, implementing an integrated healthcare system can be challenging. It requires significant coordination and communication among different healthcare providers, which can be difficult to achieve. Additionally, it may require changes to existing healthcare infrastructure and practices.
In conclusion, an integrated healthcare system has the potential to significantly improve patient care and outcomes while also reducing costs. However, achieving this goal requires overcoming significant challenges related to coordination and communication among different healthcare providers.
Primary Care
Many people have busy lives, but they always treat their health seriously. As a result, they will make an appointment for themselves, their children, or a loved one, depending on the situation. Making appointments for your health is critical, and if you’re wondering “what if?” or researching symptoms, you should schedule an appointment. A form of service that you encounter on a regular basis throughout the year is primary health care. Primary healthcare services are when you book an appointment with a dentist, a counselor, or an eye doctor
to get your eyes inspected. [24] A parent may want to schedule an appointment for their child if they see that they are continually squinting, as there are a number of things that may go wrong if a child’s eyes are not checked, including poor eyesight. [21]
“Approximately 6.8% of children younger than 18 years in the United States have a diagnosed eye and vision condition. Nearly 3 percent of children younger than 18 years are blind or visually impaired, defined as having trouble seeing even when wearing glasses or contact lenses.” Even sometimes going to the doctor or having a child wear eyeglasses doesn’t help. People prefer to schedule an appointment with an audiologist from time to time. Patients who require assistance due to hearing loss are referred to an audiologist. This characteristic attracts people of all ages, including the elderly, the young, and the middle. There are four different types of hearing loss:
● Sensorineural Hearing Loss.
● Conductive Hearing Loss.
● Mixed Hearing Loss.
● Auditory Neuropathy Spectrum Disorder.
Hearing loss caused by damage to the ear’s internal core is known as sensorineural hearing loss. Many factors could have led to a person being diagnosed with this condition, but the most prevalent include loud music, inheritance, or just maturing. The most frequent type of hearing loss is sensory hearing loss, the most prevalent of the four types.
Conductive hearing loss occurs when sounds cannot travel between the inner and outer ear, and the most common causes are a hole in the eardrum and fluid in the space between the eardrum and the cochlea. Conductive hearing loss is treatable.
Symptoms include:
● muffled hearing
● dizziness
● ear pain
● fluid drainage for ears
● and many more
Behavioral Healthcare
You can make an appointment with your local mental health service provider for this type of service. People travel for a variety of reasons. There are many various sorts of mental illnesses, but anxiety disorder is the most common of all.
Anxiety’s symptoms are:
● feeling nervous
● increased heart rate
● feeling of danger
● trembling
● constant worry
● and many more
Many people suffer from anxiety on a daily basis, which makes it difficult to complete tasks, which is why services such as mental health centers exist. A technician can provide many solutions to a person in need, including teaching coping mechanisms to the patient, prescribing medication to help with their hormone imbalance, and practitioners are also able to do what they do best, which is to get to the root of why you are feeling the way you are feeling.
Recovery centers
“According to the World Health Organization (WHO), rehab helps individuals by using a variety of interventions to aid them in developing strategies to overcome their challenges, and supporting them to return to drug- and alcohol-free, healthy, productive lives. Drug and alcohol rehab is intended to help individuals with addiction issues stop the compulsive use of drugs and alcohol. Thus, rehab occurs in a variety of settings—including inpatient, partial hospitalization, and outpatient programs—utilizes different forms of treatment and therapies, and lasts for varying lengths of time.” Today in the United States there are many facilities open to help a person recover from an addiction. [20]
Lack of insurance coverage
Many patients are concerned about how they will pay for their treatments, prescriptions, or doctor’s appointments. In the United States, we have a wealth of resources for resolving these issues. Actually, here is where an integrated health system would be beneficial, but it is also difficult. Depending on what type of health insurance you have or what type of government assistance you have also helps expand or narrow down your options. [22]
High cost of healthcare
The main thing that integrated healthcare patients mostly have in common is high healthcare costs.
“The average annual premiums in 2021, are $7,739 for single coverage and $22,221 for family coverage. Over the last year, the average premium for single coverage increased by 4% and the average premium for family coverage increased by 4%. The average family premium has increased 47% since 2011 and 22% since 2016.” As you can see, a single person’s premium coverage is much less expensive than a family’s premium coverage. It also appears that as the year progresses, the high expense of healthcare increases. A person with a good-earning job may not find the cost of a family premium package to be prohibitively expensive, but a person with a low-paying job may find it difficult to purchase a premium family health insurance package. As a result, they’d be forced to buy a premium family package that didn’t include all of the high-quality care that a family could require. If the family of four was reduced to just one or two members, they would be able to afford the high-quality care that they require. [19]
Conclusion
When it comes to individual or global integrated health systems, there are numerous aspects at play, but the truth is that they all work together and benefit patients, just as patients benefit from integrated health systems services. People would not be able to recover from an injury or illness if primary care, recovery centers, behavioral health centers, insurance, or just healthcare, in general, were not available, if the injury or illness would take longer than necessary, or if a mental illness that was not treated would worsen, or even if community-based health centers were not available, it would take a person a few days or weeks to see a specialist or doctor. In the end, regardless of how expensive insurance is or any other disadvantage, the truth is that we need the integrated health system just as much as it needs us.
Patient Testimonials
A patient walks into my clinic with various health issues – gastrointestinal problems, bloating, discomfort, hiatal hernia, sleep disorders, and general pain. After just one treatment session, they start experiencing significant improvements. They sleep better, lose weight, and their bloating and discomfort disappear. They feel happier and less depressed.
“Just one… only one treatment… you started feeling like you are able to sleep… you are able to feel who you are… The health issues specifically were GI issues, bloating and discomfort, hiatal hernia… I wasn’t sleeping… I had a bunch of issues and some pain… General Pain overall… And how are you feeling right now? Fabulous! I sleep better… I lost 10 lb… I don’t have any bloating or discomfort… I’m happy… I’m not depressed… I’m not sad…”
The Role of Supplements and Nutritional IV Therapies
Another patient takes supplements and undergo nutritional IV therapies which make a big difference in their wellbeing. They feel relaxed and stress-free after the treatments. They compare the feeling to taking a deep breath and letting it out – it feels so good.
“Taking all the supplements and you’re taking our nutritional IV therapies… And those make a big difference… Big difference! I feel that I was having that night I didn’t have any pain… Wow! And I slept and I felt relaxed like after a good massage…”
These cases demonstrate how holistic healthcare offers simple yet effective solutions for various health issues. It’s about feeling better, sleeping better, and ultimately being able to feel like yourself again.
